Introduction
This photo album shows work made by my most enthusiastic and focused students for the workshop, Direct Painting from the Ground Up. Issues explored included various uses of different colored grounds, paint application techniques, ways of using specific brush types...and more! Beginning with gesture drawings in charcoal, the canvas was then initiated with the same high energy to create a dynamic composition with brushstrokes and color moving in unison like the current of a river--or even more like water crashing down a huge waterfall!
