Here are three five-or-so-minute gesture drawings I typically make before the more developed portrait drawing is begun. A good way to learn the sitter's head structure and begin to "see" them. Also included is a picture of Margo sitting behind the easel just after the portrait drawing was made and just before we began a feast that was being prepared while we worked...who could ask for a more perfect evening?!
