MAY Art Marathon! (no instruction)
April showers...brings a MAY MARATHON! Sign up for two days of making art from live models with a group of other artists in a focused and enthusiastic atmosphere. This art marathon offers four poses in all, each for three hours. There will be 20 minutes of gestures before each long pose to energize and inspire your work. You can paint, draw, sculpt, create collage—your choice! I’ll be there drawing and timing the model. No Instruction.

MAY 14-JUNE 18: all sessions at Woodland Pk. Zoo
Six Consecutive Tuesdays > Class fee: $195 / TIME: 1-4 pm
6 Sessions SKETCHBOOK
Draw in sketchbooks from fascinating animals while exploring issues of color, texture, space, line, form, and composition. It’s a joy to be outside of the traditional studio investigating drawing concepts inspired by “models” at the zoo. A selection of drawing media will be used including color, both wet and dry media. Each lesson begins with a lecture in the zoo café before heading out to draw from a variety of animals according to the topic discussed. All classes are held at Woodland Park Zoo. All levels are welcomed. Zoo entrance fee is not included.

JUNE 15-16: Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, West Seattle
Class Fee: $235 / Time: 10am - 5 pm Sat/Sun
Painting in the manner of MODIGLIANI
Amedeo Modigliani (1884–1920) painted his most notable portraits and nudes in Paris, characterized by elongated bodies, textured surfaces, stylized shapes and pure color. His influences ranged from the classical nude genre, primitive art, and modern artists of his time. This workshop explores the technique, composition and influences of Modigliani. You will produce one painting made from the life model and several painting sketches. Oil or Acrylic. Some painting experience recommended.

Seattle Weekend Workshops are held at the Youngstown Arts
Cultural Arts Center (West Seattle) in the historic Cooper School at 4408 Delridge Way SW, located just off of the West Seattle Bridge. There is a dedicated parking lot for the building’s Arts Center.
