Like light reflecting off the facets of a gemstone, Family of Faces reflects the complex spirit, energy and beauty of us all as One.
Barbara Fugate, December 2008
What a fun unveiling for my Family of Faces exhibit! Nearly all of my "family members" were present wearing badges I made them with details of their portraits and Member number (numbered in the order they were made). It was great to have them meet each other, recognized either by their badge or portrait--one of my favorite parts of the project! Here are some pictures from the weekend--and of the installation. I'm grateful to each of my Family Members for making this project possible. Many thanks to them and everyone else who visited the Open House.
I've now completed the final four of a total of sixty portrait drawings I made from November 3 - December 1, 2008. All sixty portraits complete my project titled FAMILY OF FACES.
Come see this collection this Friday (Dec 5, 6-11PM) and Saturday (Dec. 6, noon-5 PM) as a part of an OPEN HOUSE event where over 30 artists' works will be on display, some open artist studios, art auction, installations and more. All taking place in one building: Youngstown Cultural Arts Center (ground floor) / Cooper Artist Housing (top 3 floors) at 4408 Delridge Way SW, Seattle WA in West Seattle.
Below are the last four portraits completing the project--these are details (the drawings are all 16x20" made with sepia chalk and watercolor washes). Click on images for larger versions.
