Beginnning with 2 second gestures and ending with a 1-1/2 hour pose--you can decide what time span each of these were drawn in...and which are most successful in capturing a sense of life...that is, being alive and present.
(By the way, the gestures were all drawn with Tom Waits' "Bone Machine" playing in the background--you can look for that too!)

March 15, 2005: 2 minute Sustained Gestures (newsprint 24x36") and 20 minute studies (lenox 25, 28X40") from Union College's life drawing session. Gestures are about marks of the Form in motion, the longer studies take on particular shapes created by gestural movements.
To become it you have to see it completely, as a whole, discovered through one little part like a spark. Digest it first, then the balancing act begins--not knowing if you'll ever be able to pull it off.
